He was listed in the 1850 Boone Co. Ky. census as a farmer.
He died 08/30/1886.
His obit from the Boone Co. paper reads as follows:
Dr. Gill Rice, of the McVille neighborhood, and who has been very low with consumption for many months, died last Saturday night. The funeral was preached by Rev. J. A. Kirtley at Belleview Baptist church Monday at 10a.m., after wich the reamins were taken to Rising Sun and placed in the vault to await final interment. The deceased was a native of this county, and had been a very succesful business man. He leaves a wife and three children besides several brothers to mourn his demise.
